Random Musings in October

She looks out the window,
Her thoughts as dull as the grey winter skies.
She mourns the loss of a life she could’ve had.
Her heart broken, her soul shattered,
Maps drawn across her olive skin.

Looking for comfort in the eyes of strangers,

She only found fleeting moments of solace.
Walking down the cobblestone streets,
She yearned for everlasting joy.
Deep in thought,
She looks up,
He smiles.

Her aching soul can breathe again,

Her broken heart not averse to feel again,
Piece by piece, he put her back together,
Put her on a pedestal to be the beautiful person she is.
She found a world of love and contentment,
She found a feeling no dictionary could define for her.
Life is not perfect, she knew that,
But she came as close to perfect as she could.

2019 – A Year Of Books, Books And More Books!

2019 – A Year Of Books, Books And More Books!

Like always, on the first day of every year I set a bunch of resolutions to accomplish for that year. Of course it only lasts a few days/weeks but the whole process of setting goals makes me feel good about myself. 2019 was different – it was the year I decided to do the thing I loved to do a lot but somehow managed to let life get in the way. It was to read at least 12 books (a book a month!). Going back in time, I used to thoroughly enjoy myself a good book – so much so that my mother had to take away my story books until I finished studying. There was some joy to be had in being completely immersed in the lives of the characters and living the book through them. It was time to experience that joy, AGAIN!

Like most other resolutions, I thought I wouldn’t make it through more than two books before disengaging from that resolution but 2019 was not that year. I managed to read not 12 but 16 books that year and it was the best. I read books from different genres and writers and it was AMAAAZZING!! Here’s a little bit of an inspiration if you feel like you want to pick up a book or two but don’t know which one.

Lugano – Swiss Sunny Side Up!

Lugano – Swiss Sunny Side Up!

The parts I knew best about Switzerland were that of the stunning Swiss Alps and those made famous by a popular 90’s Bollywood movie called  Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ).  Haha!

When we planned our trip to Switzerland, it was to only explore Zurich and Lucerne. By some stroke of luck, we had an additional day to spare and had absolutely no clue what Continue reading “Lugano – Swiss Sunny Side Up!”

Iceland in September – Packing List!

Iceland in September – Packing List!

Iceland, you are beyond breathtaking. You are also the QUEEN of moody weather. For this very reason, packing for Iceland almost becomes a bit of a daunting challenge. I had so many “ifs” and “buts” while packing and trying to fit everything into the stipulated weight limit offered by WOW Air, that we ended up buying additional luggage the night before our departure. We couldn’t assess the weather because, to us, it looked like the weather changed her mind on an hourly basis. Continue reading “Iceland in September – Packing List!”
