2019 – A Year Of Books, Books And More Books!

2019 – A Year Of Books, Books And More Books!

Like always, on the first day of every year I set a bunch of resolutions to accomplish for that year. Of course it only lasts a few days/weeks but the whole process of setting goals makes me feel good about myself. 2019 was different – it was the year I decided to do the thing I loved to do a lot but somehow managed to let life get in the way. It was to read at least 12 books (a book a month!). Going back in time, I used to thoroughly enjoy myself a good book – so much so that my mother had to take away my story books until I finished studying. There was some joy to be had in being completely immersed in the lives of the characters and living the book through them. It was time to experience that joy, AGAIN!

Like most other resolutions, I thought I wouldn’t make it through more than two books before disengaging from that resolution but 2019 was not that year. I managed to read not 12 but 16 books that year and it was the best. I read books from different genres and writers and it was AMAAAZZING!! Here’s a little bit of an inspiration if you feel like you want to pick up a book or two but don’t know which one.

Shining Bright Like A Diamond!

“Fill your life with women that empower you, that help you believe in your magic and aid them to believe in their own exceptional power and their incredible magic too. Women that believe in each other can survive anything. Women who believe in each other create armies that will win kingdoms and wars.”

Lugano – Swiss Sunny Side Up!

Lugano – Swiss Sunny Side Up!

The parts I knew best about Switzerland were that of the stunning Swiss Alps and those made famous by a popular 90’s Bollywood movie called  Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ).  Haha!

When we planned our trip to Switzerland, it was to only explore Zurich and Lucerne. By some stroke of luck, we had an additional day to spare and had absolutely no clue what Continue reading “Lugano – Swiss Sunny Side Up!”

Another Year Gone By…

Another Year Gone By…

Another year has passed and I can’t help but wonder how fast the year has sped past on. Can you remember the first hour of 2018? I can like it was yesterday – and it was such a wonderful feeling ringing in the new year in a place I never thought I’d be. It was special, it was heart wrenching, it was amazing and it was sad.  I’m a mixed bundle of emotions at New Year’s – the retrospection of the past year mixed with the exciting unwritten journey ahead makes my head spin in different directions. I remember bringing in 2018 thinking that this year was going to difficult but it was also going to be one of the best there was. Oh boy – I had no idea what I was in for. 😉 Continue reading “Another Year Gone By…”

Life Lessons 101 – Letting Go.

Life Lessons 101 – Letting Go.

A recent forward about how it’s best to steer clear of people who hurt you got me thinking. In retrospective, I was wondering what life threw at me these past couple of years. Life hasn’t always been a piece of cake and it got me thinking about how I let the negativity of some people affect me more than I should have let them. There were some life lessons learned and some forgotten *I’m getting older you know! 😉 *. Of the many lessons learned, one that has stuck with me for a while now, one that I would like to share, is a lesson I learned in my (very!) late 20s *ok, I was just short of being 30 when realization struck!*  and I wish I’d learned it sooner .
