A Year Without You, Amma!

A year is almost coming to a close, a whole year without you!

You held on for so long, living each day with nothing but sheer faith in our Gods. I say “our Gods” now because it was your unwavering belief that gently nudged mine into existence. Watching you trust with such conviction made it impossible not to believe alongside you.

You almost made it to 99, what a life that must’ve been. And now I sit wondering why I didn’t ask as many questions about your life as you did mine. Rest assured, your stories would’ve blown my socks off. I can only imagine the things you saw, the wisdom you carried and the courage it must’ve taken to live each chapter of your life with such humility and strength.

Adieu, Juno! You are forever loved!

A heart that never stops aching, a memory that will never fade, a touch you will never forget and that wet slobbery kiss you now want more than ever! Losing my four-legged baby to illness is always so hard. Conflicting emotions between wanting to relieve her off her pain but also wanting her to live a long, long life take over you. Goodbye, my sunshine!

Dog heaven has a mischievous new angel now! On a warm November evening, about eight years ago, we adopted a quiet, shy little puppy from CUPA(Compassion Unlimited Plus Action), Bangalore and that day, our lives changed forever! At the adoption center, where every other puppy was vying for our attention, she was tucked away in a corner easily missed if  we didn’t look too carefully. We held her in our arms and right then we knew that we wanted to give little baby with the biggest, most beautiful eyes I’d ever seen a forever home!She was such a kind and gentle (but naughty) soul with many, many adorable quirks and idiosyncrasies!
