“Time cools, time clarifies; no mood can be maintained quite unaltered through the course of hours.”- Mark Twain
Is it just me or is this year flying by?! I vividly remember the first day of 2017 like it was yesterday. *Sigh* Looking back at the months gone by, I’m amazed by the experiences gained, memories made, places travelled and most of all, fears conquered. I’m also saddened at the thought of things I could’ve done or done better. *That’s the semi-perfectionist in me talking! ;)* But HEY! Life is about wearing that perfect shade of lipstick and moving forward, right? 🙂 The only time you should be looking back is to learn from past mistakes and nothing more. Regrets have no place in our lives.
Talking about time, I’m among those who pull out their phones to check the time even when they have a watch on their hands! *Don’t ask me why I do that, I just do! =)* But when you have that beautifully crafted wood watch on your hand, that changes! A wood watch, you ask? YES!! I’m stoked to be collaborating with JORD watches! THEY MAKE THEEEEE MOST BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED WOODEN WATCHES!!

Reminiscing the year gone by, I’m overcome by a myriad of emotions. The good, the bad and the ugly were all wrapped up in one ginormous gift and handed to me. Life is but a roller coaster ride and we must run with the bulls, that I have learnt to do well. This past year, mistakes were made, lessons were learnt, steps were taken, descions were made, moved forward, wandered cities, laughed, lived and loved. After all, memories are made of these! Continue reading “The year that was…”
A thousand beautiful stories that strike a chord somewhere deep within you.
An aroma that awakens your tired soul.
A myriad tastes that linger on making you want for more.
All this behind a sip of finely crafted wine! The nuances that go into making each bottle of wine is beautiful to understand and to know. To be completely honest, I was never a wine aficionado. The more varieties of wine I had, the more I began to appreciate it! There’s SO much to know about wine that it can be quiet intimidating to begin with. It was embarrassing to not be able to tell which wine goes with what types of food and growing up, I always imagined wine to be an “adult” drink (Don’t ask me what it means because right now I cant begin to explain it! 😉 😉 ). But as you go along, you can’t help but want to learn more about the art of wine making. What better way to start than to visit a vineyard and Newport Vineyards was our choice. A pithy novel by Jenny Offill, Dept. of Speculation gives a distant emotional insight into the life of the unnamed protagonist, “the wife” who goes through a whirlwind of feelings during the different phases of her adulthood dealing with her professional life, motherhood and the obstacles in marriage. “Yankee Doodle went to town
A-riding on his pony
He stuck a feather in his hat
And called it macaroni”
*Keeps singing this bit of the rhyme repeatedly in her head*
I don’t know how or why this rhyme came to my head but it stuck. It stuck for a whole day and then all I wanted to do the next day was DOODLE! I guess it was the DOODLE in Yankee Doodle that got me to want to draw! =) Plus, a cold and rainy day makes you want to stay inside the comfort of your home! *Brrrrrr* Continue reading “Bitten by the DOODLE bug!”
