Lugano – Swiss Sunny Side Up!

Lugano – Swiss Sunny Side Up!

The parts I knew best about Switzerland were that of the stunning Swiss Alps and those made famous by a popular 90’s Bollywood movie called  Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ).  Haha!

When we planned our trip to Switzerland, it was to only explore Zurich and Lucerne. By some stroke of luck, we had an additional day to spare and had absolutely no clue what Continue reading “Lugano – Swiss Sunny Side Up!”

Iceland in September – Packing List!

Iceland in September – Packing List!

Iceland, you are beyond breathtaking. You are also the QUEEN of moody weather. For this very reason, packing for Iceland almost becomes a bit of a daunting challenge. I had so many “ifs” and “buts” while packing and trying to fit everything into the stipulated weight limit offered by WOW Air, that we ended up buying additional luggage the night before our departure. We couldn’t assess the weather because, to us, it looked like the weather changed her mind on an hourly basis. Continue reading “Iceland in September – Packing List!”

Another Year Gone By…

Another Year Gone By…

Another year has passed and I can’t help but wonder how fast the year has sped past on. Can you remember the first hour of 2018? I can like it was yesterday – and it was such a wonderful feeling ringing in the new year in a place I never thought I’d be. It was special, it was heart wrenching, it was amazing and it was sad.  I’m a mixed bundle of emotions at New Year’s – the retrospection of the past year mixed with the exciting unwritten journey ahead makes my head spin in different directions. I remember bringing in 2018 thinking that this year was going to difficult but it was also going to be one of the best there was. Oh boy – I had no idea what I was in for. 😉 Continue reading “Another Year Gone By…”

Angel’s Landing : Zion National Park

Angel’s Landing : Zion National Park

Fear is a real struggle to overcome. Fear of talking in front of large groups of people, fear of heights and worst of all, fear of getting out of your comfort zone! The list can be loooong! Although, there’s an inexplicable joy in overcoming something that deabilitates you, the road to killing THAT fear is far from easy. It’s by doing those little things and taking those little steps that make you closer to tarnishing that beast called FEAR.

I’m afraid of a great many things – one of them being HEIGHTS *yikes*. I wouldn’t say I have acrophobia but when I’m at unusually high places, my knees go weak – LITERALLY! 😉 My legs begin to tremble and the ground beneath me feels like jello! It is this trepidation, that reaching the top of Angel’s Landing seemed like a monstrosity of an experience. Continue reading “Angel’s Landing : Zion National Park”

Story in a Bottle | Newport Vineyards

Story in a Bottle | Newport Vineyards

A thousand beautiful stories that strike a chord somewhere deep within you.
An aroma that awakens your tired soul.
A myriad tastes that linger on making you want for more.

All this behind a sip of finely crafted wine! The nuances that go into making each bottle of wine is beautiful to understand and to know. To be completely honest, I was never a wine aficionado. The more varieties of wine I had, the more  I began to appreciate it! There’s SO much to know about wine that it can be quiet intimidating to begin with. It was embarrassing to not be able to tell which wine goes with what types of food and growing up, I always imagined wine to be an “adult” drink (Don’t ask me what it means because right now I cant begin to explain it! 😉 😉 ). But as you go along, you can’t help but want to learn more about the art of wine making. What better way to start than to visit a vineyard and Newport Vineyards was our choice.
