Goodbye, my sunshine!

Goodbye, my sunshine!

Dog heaven has a mischievous new angel now! On a warm November evening, about eight years ago, we adopted a quiet, shy little puppy from CUPA(Compassion Unlimited Plus Action), Bangalore and that day, our lives changed forever! At the adoption center, where every other puppy was vying for our attention, she was tucked away in a corner easily missed if  we didn’t look too carefully. We held her in our arms and right then we knew that we wanted to give little baby with the biggest, most beautiful eyes I’d ever seen a forever home! She was such a kind and gentle (but naughty) soul with many, many adorable quirks and idiosyncrasies! Owing to her many, many quirks and idiosyncrasies(yes, we considered dog therapy of sorts 😉 ) we named her Phoebe! Continue reading “Goodbye, my sunshine!”

Story in a Bottle | Newport Vineyards

Story in a Bottle | Newport Vineyards

A thousand beautiful stories that strike a chord somewhere deep within you.
An aroma that awakens your tired soul.
A myriad tastes that linger on making you want for more.

All this behind a sip of finely crafted wine! The nuances that go into making each bottle of wine is beautiful to understand and to know. To be completely honest, I was never a wine aficionado. The more varieties of wine I had, the more  I began to appreciate it! There’s SO much to know about wine that it can be quiet intimidating to begin with. But as you go along, you can’t help but want to learn more about the art of wine making. What better way to start than to visit a vineyard and Newport Vineyards was our choice. Bitten by the DOODLE bug!

Bitten by the DOODLE bug!

“Yankee Doodle went to town
A-riding on his pony
He stuck a feather in his hat
And called it macaroni”

*Keeps singing this bit of the rhyme repeatedly in her head*

I don’t know how or why this rhyme came to my head but it stuck. It stuck for a whole day and then all I wanted to do the next day was DOODLE! I guess it was the DOODLE in Yankee Doodle that got me to want to draw! =) Plus, a cold and rainy day makes you want to stay inside the comfort of your home! *Brrrrrr* Continue reading “Bitten by the DOODLE bug!”

How would you like your Trench Coat?

How would you like your Trench Coat?

Hello everyone!

Think trench coats and what comes to my mind is Holly Golightly and her cat!! 🙂 Audrey Hepburn made this piece of clothing unforgettable for me in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”! Not to forget the beautiful Marlene Dietrich in “A Foreign Affair” and the uber-chic Jackie Kennedy! Once used by men during the World War to help brave the damp weather conditions, some of these women helped bring the trench coat, accredited to be designed by Thomas Burberry,  to a stylish and must have piece.
